A new documentary, Les Doleances (2025, 59 mins, in French with English subtitles), will be screened at Boston College on February 16, 2026 at 6:30pm (Stokes Hall, 195S). The award-winning film is about Fabrice Dalongeville, the mayor of a city in France, who set out on a quest. President Macron launched “Grand Débat National” and requested citizens submit their opinions. Thousands of citizens submitted their opinions; however, the President ignored them. Now, Mayor Dalongeville wants to know: What did those citizens have to say, and what can they teach us all about democracy today?
