New Publication by Clough Center Director Jonathan Laurence

The Clough Center announces the publication of “Secularism in Comparative Perspective: Religion Across Political Contexts,” edited by Jonathan Laurence, with a foreword by Michael Walzer. Notable scholars contribute to its chapters. Additionally, a Handbook on Religious Toleration, co-edited by Laurence and Karen Barkey, is contracted with Springer.

The Clough Center is pleased to announce the publication of Secularism in Comparative Perspective: Religion Across Political Contexts, edited by Center Director Jonathan Laurence.

The volume features a foreword by Michael Walzer alongside captivating chapters from top scholars like Asma Afsaruddin, Carol Ferrara, Ahmet Kuru, Jose Casanova and Sudipta Kaviraj. A forthcoming Handbook on Religious Toleration in Comparative Perspective, co-edited by Laurence with noted sociologist Karen Barkey (Bard College), came under contract with Springer this spring.
