On the first Tuesday of the new school year, September 1, we welcomed our Fellows, Affiliates, and many friends to our annual opening reception at the Connolly House. We enjoyed refreshments, catching up with one another, and timely remarks by Mr. Chuck Clough, who founded the Center, with Mrs. Gloria Clough, more than a decade ago. This year’s Clough Center community — the biggest in the Center’s history — will explore our theme, “Democracy at Scale,” in events and seminar meetings, research articles, and blog posts.
