On September 4, 2025, Shannon Bream joined the Clough Center for the event “What the Constitution Means to Us.”
Shannon Bream: “Extraordinary events involving the tension between the Supreme Court and the President have become a part of the testimony of the US Constitution’s strength.”
Shannon Bream: “James Madison, while introducing the Bill of Rights, said: The people shall not be deprived or abridged of their right to speak, to write, or to publish their sentiments, and the freedom of the press is one of the great bulwarks of liberty, shall be inviolable.”
Shannon Bream: “Our constitution has stood firm among constant change, growing, evolving, addressing challenges that remained from the very start of drafting the Constitution and adopting it in its imperfection.”
Shannon Bream: “I believe we should take great comfort, not fear, in the fact that our constitution was constructed to be able to not only withstand but also to incorporate change.”
