Professor Ziblatt has written some of this century’s most influential works on democracy. These include Conservative Parties and the Birth of Democracy (2017) and, with Steven Levitsky, Tyranny of the Minority (2023). He also co-wrote How Democracies Die (2018), which the Economist described as “the most important book of the Trump era.”

Professor Ziblatt’s presence at the Clough Center will benefit students, faculty, and the broader community of Boston College.
